One Nation Film Festival is thrilled to announce its final film selections!

One Nation Walking Together (ONWT) will host the Third Annual One Nation Film Festival (ONFF) on Feb. 11, 2018. All proceeds from the film festival will benefit One Nation Walking Together, a local non-profit whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of Native Americans who live in seven western states, including Colorado’s urban areas.

Join ONWT on Sunday Feb. 11 at Stargazers Theatre located at 10 S. Parkside Drive in Colorado Springs. Films begin screening at 10:00 a.m., doors open at 9:30 a.m. ONFF will screen five full-length documentaries, seven documentary short films and four narrative short films.

The five full-length documentaries will be: “Essence of Healing: The Journey of American Indian Nurses,” “Your Way Back To Me,” “The Mayors of Shiprock,” “Defending the Fire” and “More Than A Word.” The film schedule, synopses, links to trailers and more details can be found at www.OneNationFilmFestival.org.

“Your Way Back to Me” will be the festival’s closing film, which follows the life of Hannah Sheridan, who is half Cheyenne and half Kiowa. Sheridan joins the Navy, despite the fact that she was a lesbian, or Two Spirit, in the era of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.” Ten years later, after the deaths of her father and grandmother and her recent discharge from the Navy, Sheridan returns to her Native American community to fulfill her role in the mourning rituals and tries to find her place again within her culture and family.

All-day ticket passes are available for $20; discount student, senior and military tickets are available for $15. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.stargazerstheatre.com, or at the door.
