New Flag Pole at Crawford House Courtesy of Scouts and Cadets

On a sunny, breezy Saturday morning Boy Scout Troop 198  and the Mitchell High School Air Force JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) installed a new flag pole in front of Crawford House. The flag pole was donated by Scout Troop 198.

A flag-raising ceremony, attended by several dozen Crawford House residents, staff, board members and supporters was held at 3 pm on March 31st. The new flagpole displays the American flag, the POW/MIA flag and flags of each of the 5 services.

The cadets also presented Vicky Pettis, Crawford House program director, with a check for over $900, a box of replacement flags and over 600 lbs. of donated food. A big Thank You and Well Done to these inspiring youth!

Crawford House provides temporary housing and support services to veterans who are homeless and/or suffering from substance abuse and/or mental illness. For more info on Crawford House, see www.cvrcforvets.org.
