I had come across several articles regarding America the Beautiful Park and purposed to visit… Continue

I have just finished teaching a course in ethics to about 20 adult college students who are trying to complete their undergraduate degrees. The experience has been both enjoyable and discouraging for me. I enjoy the classroom, with its stimulating interchange with students and the opportunity to explore their thinking. But this occasion has also been discouraging for several reasons; and this is what I want to discuss here.

First, it will perhaps be useful to explain my general… Continue

Does Mass Participation Make Sin Acceptable?

The local Colorado Springs news has been dominated, these last few days, by reports of a prominent religious figure who has been exposed for his immoral behavior. However, this current tragedy will have ramifications far beyond that local group. His prominence will assure that. To make the issue even more serious, his sin is… Continue

We first compared dried thyme from the Savory Spice Shop (opening downtown on Tejon next week, just in thyme for the holidays!) to the fresh thyme I had picked an hour earlier from my plant at home. They both smelled amazing and, while the dried thyme from… Continue
