The Common Sense Judge, The Elevation Group, and Brandango have teamed up to produce one of the most important books on morality, ethics, and our country's direction in years. This is a perfect primer for the upcoming elections. For this project, we needed a cover that is easy to read, hard-hitting, immediately topic-obvious, and more intriguing than others in the subject area. Wrong. What you don't know about some "healthy" restaurant foods (like salads) can make you fatter than you ever imagined.

But first, let's begin with the basics.

D-I-E-T is a four letter word. And we should avoid it just like we avoid the others. Successful weight loss is not accomplished by DIET-ing. Not with pills, sprinkles, shakes, prescriptions or pre-packaged food… Continue

Digital Deals vs. Clipping Coupons...

For the past 33 years, I've watched my dear wife, Kathy, diligently clip coupons out of the Sunday newspaper, in a valiant struggle to save a few bucks on groceries that would inevitably be re-directed to some other pressing family need. A noble cause to be sure, but I just never took the time in those early years of our marriage to see the method behind her madness. I just chalked it up as something she was compelled to do because of her frugal Catholic upbringing and unction to keep idle…

Many dismiss the importance of regular check-ups because they feel fine and don’t have noticeable risk factors of heart disease like smoking or being overweight. Waiting until you feel symptoms may be too late. Each year in the U.S., over 1 million people have heart…

Who's in Control of Your Health?

I saw my friend Gerry for the first time in years and was impressed by how healthy and young he now looks. For years he has had a problem with his weight, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Finally, he got tired of taking medications just to manage problems that never got better. So he started eating healthier and he started exercising. He dropped close to 40 pounds. Not only does he feel great, but also his cholesterol is now within normal range and his doctor is ready to take him off… Continue

The FDA is on the verge of approving genetically modified salmon to enter the U.S. food supply.

The FDA has been genetically modifying our fruit and vegetables for years. Remember Broccoflower? That's the lab result of cross-pollination between broccoli and cauliflower.…
