Burns has a passion for chemistry that has only been fueled by the challenging courses and tests she experienced in the last year. So she jumped at the chance to…

Home Buyers Beware, Home Sellers Beware, Your Realtor May Not Be on Your Side

I am downsizing and plan to put my Rockrimmon house on the market in the Spring of 2015.  My (former) Realtor told me that "location, location, location" has been replaced by "price and pizzazz" and that the price must come down 5% every 30 days.  Pizzazz as in swinging lights in the kitchen and multiple pillows on staged beds.  My reply, "Buyers are not that stupid."

A friend, who is selling her home, told me that Realtors only care about their commission…

SMHS Helps Minneapolis Students Make a Difference in Colorado Springs

When students from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis made it to Colorado Springs earlier this summer, they explored some of the area’s most popular attractions. The students spent most of the week helping to rebuild land affected by fires in the last decade.

The 41 students and six chaperones from the only Catholic high…

During National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, Mothers’ Milk Bank (MMB), a Colorado-based program benefitting women and babies nationwide, celebrates breastfeeding and asks healthy, lactating mothers to donate their milk to help save the lives of…

Tips for Raising Money-Smart Kids

As the education manager at Ent, I know it can be difficult for parents to decide when and what to teach their children about money management. Is five too early to earn an allowance? Should you share the family budget with your children? When should teens learn about credit? These are all important questions, and it’s often not easy to know the answers. Kids have different levels of interest in financial education, but it’s never too early to start using these…
