This past weekend tens of thousands of Coloradoans attended the 13th annual Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan's Lake Park in Denver. The main feature was dragon boat races, something I have never heard of, and thus the need to see and learn and have fun.
Overall it was an Asian culture event with food, entertainment, a huge marketplace, as well as dignitaries (including Denver's mayor) and kids and fun.
What is a dragon boat race and why do…

When your child turns 10, it’s only natural to have a party – with balloons, prizes, food and festivity. That same spirit holds true for some shopping centers, as well.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, The Promenade Shops at Briargate will throw a huge party for the community from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, at 1885 Briargate Parkway, with plenty of activities for children, including balloon twisting, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk and much…

Writing can be one of the most solitary occupations. Many writers carve out time from busy schedules that often include family and job responsibilities. Setting the alarm early or staying up after everyone else is in dreamland are two ways to find ‘quiet’ time.
Even though most of us need to be ‘alone’ when we are creating, it is really important to be part of a community that can…

Getting Your Car Ready for that Summer Trip!
So, you are getting everything ready for that summer trip – packing the cooler, snacks for the road, making reservations to make that trip flow smoothly and enjoyably. Don’t forget to prepare your vehicle before you leave – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, especially if you are stranded on the side of the road in the heat, with a few unhappy children (or spouse)! Don’t ignore any engine lights or maintenance…

But the seed for this summer’s work was planted last year when a couple of the players volunteered during the Waldo Canyon fire.
According to Cary Gosselin, mom…
