Pro Football Camp Extends Assistance to Fire Victims Again This Year

Last year following the Waldo Canyon Fires, Pro Football Camp offered scholarships to fire victims.  Additionally, as pictured here, they also worked with their partners, Eastbay and Let The Kids Play, to outfit families in sports gear and equipment.

Discover Goodwill Issues Urgent Appeal For Household Donations Assisting Black Forest Fire Evacuees: Furniture and House Wares Are in High Demand

On Saturday, June 22, Discover Goodwill expanded its emergency voucher services for Black Forest fire evacuees to include furniture and other household items. Now that displaced families and individuals are re-establishing their homes, Discover Goodwill is experiencing a high demand for couches, tables, chairs, kitchenware and other common household items that Black Forest residents lost as a result of the fire.

Discover Goodwill Addresses Additional Needs of Black Forest Fire Evacuees

Through a partnership with El Paso County’s Office of Emergency Management, Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado has been providing emergency clothing vouchers to Black Forest Fire evacuees at the county’s Disaster Assistance Center (DAC). In lieu of the recent wildfire tragedy I thought it would be appropriate to discuss grilling and barbecuing safely.

First of all I want to make clear that you CAN grill and barbeque even with the current fire ban. You can only do so at a private residence and you still must use common sense.

You CANNOT grill or barbecue at most parks, open spaces, National Forests, etc. The safety of your back patio is perfectly legal in Colorado Springs city…
