Several programs in Colorado Springs help homeless veterans get off the streets and into rentals. Most of these vets have no household goods so they move into empty apartments and sleep on the floor. Furniture, lamps, small kitchen appliances, TVs, bedding, towels, pots and pans are needed. Tax receipts for charitable donations are available for tax purposes. If you can help, please call Bunny at 471-8527. For more information about these programs, see related posts by Bunny on this website,…Continue

It was the perfect storm: a gaggle of clever, outgoing men; gingerbread; a bicycle bell attached to a beat up metal bed pan; Olympic Athletes, the support of many worthy causes; a female Auctioneer and a man willing to give up his tie – who says chivalry is dead?

When our daughter reached 3rd grade we were struck with the realization that we could no longer leave her education in the hands of her public school. She had not yet learned to read. The school had the desire to help but their efforts produced little results. Even one-on-one tutoring was not effective. We were stressed-out and fearful.
After the school year ended, we had to do something. We did not know where to look, who to ask, or how to get help. As parents,…Continue

1. Don’t procrastinate — Resist the temptation to put off your taxes until the very last minute. Rushing to meet the filing deadline may cause you to overlook potential sources of tax savings and will likely increase your risk of making an error.
