Now I Can Get A Decent Night's Sleep

When I was a kid I hated the Olympics. That was all I could watch since we only had one television in the house. And, it seemed like the Olympics lasted all year. The winter games were the worst. How boring!

Fast forward over 20 years. I didn't mean to watch the 2010 Winter Olympics. I didn't watch the opening ceremony. My daughter was watching a movie on Disney, on my television. I'm not athletic, nor is anyone in my family. I hate going out in the snow and cold. Why would I…

A Clean Shorty

I cleaned most of the house today - particularly the bathrooms, kitchen, and the floors. This time though I decided to take a look at the top of the refrigerator since a little dustball caught the corner of my eye. I think I haven't looked at the top of the refrigerator for about a year, and guessed it could probably use a little cleaning. Why wait so long? I just rarely think about the top of the good old fridge....simply because I don't see it! You see, I'm only about 5 feet, 6…

Prevent Injury or Face Emergency

When it comes to our health and the health of our family, why do we wait? Why do we wait until the last minute when a simple injury, easily managed when we address it early, turns into an emergency situation? Something as important as our health is pushed off and ignored until it becomes an emergency that…

The Dynamic Duo

What could a chiropractor and a massage therapist have in common? I found the answer to that question through my training in massage therapy. Massage and chiropractic are actually intimately connected.

Chiropractors focus on the alignment of bones and on the nerves that control muscles. Massage therapists focus on muscles. Since muscles attach at each end to bones, a tight muscle can cause misalignment and will resist chiropractic manipulation. On the other hand, misalignments and… Continue

Trust VS. Truth: Community Centers

Last night after returning from the contentment of wings at Meadow Muffins, I pondered the chaos happening in our city. More specifically, the West End. It would appear that there is no hope of the City being honest about community centers and the dismal distrust that births continuance of lies. My friend and wife explained to me that last week they had made a donation toward the effort of keeping the centers open to keep them open in the traditional sense of having activities for people. It… Continue

Joe Koshansky Selected to SkySox.com's "Colorado Springs' Team of the Decade!"

By the slimmest of margins - perhaps the closest competition of any on

the roster - Joe Koshansky has edged out Ryan Shealy as the starting

first baseman for "Colorado Springs' Team of the Decade."

If there was one word that defined Koshansky during his tenure with the

Sky Sox, it was "power" - pure and unadulterated. Across two full

seasons in the Springs, the hulking first baseman launched 52 home runs

while driving in 220 runners - both decade-highs among… Continue

Denny Stark Selected for All-Decade Starting Rotation

A welcome addition to a Colorado Springs rotation starved of pitching,

Denny Stark debuted for the Sky Sox in late 2002 - providing veteran

leadership and stability to a wavering Sky Sox staff.

Equipped with stellar talent, Stark was able to combine superb stuff

with a keen sense of the strike zone. Building upon two seasons

of major league experience prior to his Colorado Springs debut, the

hurler would become a leader in the Sox rotation while… Continue

Ben Petrick Named to SkySox.com's "Colorado Springs' Team of the Decade!"

Ben Petrick

Among the MLB's most prominent catching prospects in the early part of

the decade, Ben Petrick combined a smooth, powerful stroke with an

intelligent approach at the plate. With the confidence and pedigree of

a rare talent, Petrick was a stud from his first day with the club,

eventually developing into one of the franchise's all-time greats -

placing among the all-time Sky Sox leaders in home runs (3rd), OPS

(5th), RBI (7th), and… Continue
