Definition of a "Military Veteran"

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 6:15pm 1 Comment

What is a vet? “A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, his or her life. That is beyond honor, and there are too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact. Remember to thank a Veteran Today and Every Day!" - author unknown

i thought your story on community journalism, or as some call it, citizen journalism, brought out many points:
like, the old days of rushing to get that headline or how now, a fax or email cut so much time off of getting that 'big' story.
but, there also is the human touch, which i feel has been missing for a long, long time.
did ANYONE ever think that the most trusted man in america, would be a reporter? walter and that title, carried a lot of weight.
as you put, there is a "fine line between gossip & the news". too many it seems are content with the gossip, the way it's reported and believe that it is news. be it politics or world events or local happenings. if a person isn't informed, they'll believe anything.
i think that those of us who participate in programs such as fresh ink, really had no idea that 'walter' might be in our heads, telling us to "do it right or don't do it at all"...

Teila ... can you send me some pictures of Beth Kraiss by just posting them on our Web site at csfreshink.com? I appreciate you including the collage of photos with your story but I can't really use those in our print edition. Our first Briargate Fresh*Ink paper will be thrown with the Gazette to all who subscribe on Feb. 3 and I am definitely using your story about Beth, so many more will be able to read about the great work she does for others.
I looked on the New Life Church Web site but saw no pics of Beth. Can you please post some pics of her as individual photos so I can pull those off and use them in the Feb. 3 paper?
That would be awesome, as was your story!
Look forward to hearing more from you, and wondering if you are a New Life Church person. I met Amie Streater from New Life the other day and she was wonderful.
Call me if you need to at 648-9076
