Jerald Douglas "Doug" Huggins served aboard the light cruiser, USS St. Louis, during World War II and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. He passed away peacefully August 21, 2016, surrounded by those who love him. He was 93.

In Colorado, Veterans who have a 50% or more service-connected disability rating can get free Disabled Veteran license plates. I'm offering some helpful hints to, hopefully, save other Veterans some of the delay, hassle, frustration and expense I incurred trying to get my plates. Congress disrespected those who have fallen in the service of our country when it made Memorial Day (originally May 30) an excuse for a 3-day weekend, and it continues to disrespect the fallen as long as it ignores Senator Inouye's repeated pleas to restore the traditional date and dignity of Memorial Day.
