Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group’s
4th Annual 7v7 High School Football Tournament
Friday night football games are some of the greatest memories students have from high school. The first game in the fall is something students look forward to when they return to school in August. Luckily, football is starting early this year as 14 teams from 11 different high school in the area will be competing in the Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group’s fourth annual 7v7 High School Football Tournament on Thursday June 23rd at Vista Ridge High School.
14 local teams will be battling for the chance to win it all, have bragging rights, as well as take home the team trophy and compression shirts for each team member. The day will begin with pool play at 8:30 a.m. followed by a double-elimination tournament. This year’s competing schools are Alameda, Manual, Rampart, Vista Ridge varsity and junior varsity, TCA, Elizabeth, Doherty varsity and junior varsity, Mitchell, Pine Creek, Valor varsity and junior varsity, and Ellicott.
Although there are rivalries in this group of high school teams, they will all come together to help raise money for economically disadvantaged youth in Colorado Springs and the kids of deployed servicemen and women to attend Pro Football Camp, which is July 12-14 at Vista Ridge High School. In the past three years, this tournament has provided more than 50 scholarships to the kids of Colorado Springs. For more information regarding Pro Football Camp, visit profootballcamp.com.
Come out to Vista Ridge High Shool throughout the day to watch as these teams leave it all on the field in grueling, fast-paced games. There is no admission cost to come watch, but donations to the scholarship fund are appreciated.
